Workout on the Road: Staying Consistent

We all know how important it is to participate in a comprehensive training program on a consistent basis. However, with work travel and family vacations disrupting your training schedule it can be hard to stick to a regimented program. To help you maintain your fitness levels while traveling, we have developed a "Workout on the Road" which requires nothing more than a resistance band (also called Versa Tube). Resistance bands can be purchased at most fitness equipment stores or purchased online at power-systems.com in their Home Fitness section. The Workout on the Road's main focus is improving muscular endurance. For advice on improving other fitness components (cardiovascular, flexibility, etc.) while on the road, please visit our other "Tips From the Pro's."

We recommend that you perform each of the following exercises for one minute to one minute and a half or until muscular failure has been achieved. Please modify the exercise to match your fitness level. If it is not "burning" by the end of the set - it was too easy and you just cheated yourself!

Please consult a physician prior to beginning ANY exercise program.
